What is intimate (genital) surgery?
It's a clinical area covering surgery of the genital region for functional, reconstructive or aesthetic reasons. It is treated like any other medical service: with a private consultation, an honest assessment, and a clear discussion of whether — and what — surgery is appropriate.
Three kinds of concern
Most cases fall into one of three areas: functional (comfort, or function affected by anatomy, childbirth, ageing or previous surgery), reconstructive (restoring form and function after trauma, surgery or a medical condition), and aesthetic (appearance-related). Many situations involve more than one, and the assessment clarifies which applies.
Care for women

Is it always surgical?
No. Some concerns are better addressed non-surgically, managed by another specialty, or simply reassured after assessment. An honest consultation comes first, and surgery is only one possible outcome of it.
What does care involve?
A private, respectful consultation and assessment; if surgery is appropriate, a clear explanation of the options, what is realistic, recovery and risks — so any decision is fully informed and unhurried. Privacy and discretion are maintained throughout. Risks, as with any surgery, are explained honestly and depend on the specific procedure.
